In this lecture, Rabbi Soloveichik discusses the symbolism of tekhelet (blue and white fringes) that used to adorn Jewish undergarments and prayer shawls, and he explains why the answer has implications for the establishment of the State of Israel and the return of the Jewish people to its sovereign homeland.
This lecture took place at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center, in Jerusalem, at the 2013 Ptil Tekhelet conference, an organization that produces tekhelet for Jews today.
